A diagonal kicker brace connects to a steel beam beneath a concrete and metal floor deck assembly. The diagonal brace consists of an L3x3x3/8 angle tied to the top flange of the nearest steel beam with a skewed orientation as required. A 1/4 inch by 6 inch by 0 foot 6 inch weld plate connects to the diagonal brace, welded to the beam with a three-sixteenths inch fillet weld. Alternatively, the contractor may provide a bolted connection using two 7/8 inch diameter A325 bolts instead of the field weld.
