A reinforced concrete masonry unit bond beam detail shows horizontal bond beam reinforcement within special bond beam units, with vertical reinforcing bars centered in the wall cavity. Bar positioners are placed in the first course above and below the bond beam to maintain bar alignment. The intermediate grout pour is stopped one-half inch below the unit top to allow proper integration with the bond beam pour, maintaining three-quarters of an inch minimum cover.
