This structural detail connects an L3x3x3/8 diagonal kicker brace to the top flange of a steel beam supporting a concrete over metal floor deck. The brace attaches via a 1/4-inch by 6-inch by 0'-6" weld plate welded to the beam with a three-sixteenths-inch fillet weld, and to the brace with a matching three-sixteenths-inch fillet weld. As an alternative to the field weld, the contractor may provide the connection using two 7/8-inch-diameter A325 bolts. The brace skews as required at each outrigger to the nearest beam.
