A reinforced concrete perimeter grade beam connects to the adjacent slab on grade using number four dowels spaced at sixteen inches on center with a one-foot-eight-inch embedment into the grade beam. The grade beam contains continuous top and bottom bars, stirrups per schedule, top added bars, and bottom added bars, with number five bars placed each face for depths greater than thirty inches. Width and depth dimensions are sized per the structural schedule and plan.
