This assembly consists of a knee brace, specified as an L3x3x1/4 angle, connecting a wide-flange beam to a vertical wide-flange column. The brace is coped at both ends and secured with 3/16-inch fillet welds to a gusset plate at the column and directly to the underside of the beam. The column includes stiffener plates where the gusset plate occurs, with the gusset plate size and configuration determined by the buckling restrained brace supplier. A concrete slab on metal deck sits atop the beam, anchored by headed stud anchors as specified in the project plans and notes.
