A continuous glulam beam bears on a glulam column sized per plan, connected via a three-quarter-inch thick steel knife plate centered within the members. Four three-quarter-inch diameter A307 pins secure the beam to the knife plate, and four additional three-quarter-inch diameter A307 pins secure the knife plate to the column below. A one-half-inch thick cap plate matching the column size sits at the column top beneath the beam. Three-quarter-inch diameter wood plugs conceal the pin penetrations. An orthogonal glulam beam runs perpendicular on top.
