An existing steel beam supports a ceiling clip made of 13-gauge by 3/4-inch wide minimum steel secured with a shot-in anchor attachment. A vertical hanger wire with three tight turns in 1-1/2 inches extends downward from the clip and is tested for 200 pounds. A splayed brace wire is oriented at 45 degrees with four tight turns and is anchored to the steel beam via a 1-inch wide by 97 mil minimum steel strap with a shot-in anchor attachment tested for 440 pounds. Maximum clearances of 5/8-inch are maintained at the ceiling clip attachments to the beam flange.
