An expansion joint connection joins an open web joist girder to a structural steel column utilizing a three-quarter-inch thick bearing plate and two three-quarter-inch diameter A325N bolts through the bearing plate with six-inch long slotted holes. The joist girder seat remains unwelded to the bearing plate to allow movement. Additional stiffener plates measuring one-half-inch by one foot are provided typically, alongside a seven-and-a-half-inch deep girder bearing end secured by two three-quarter-inch diameter A325 erection bolts. A stabilizer plate measuring one-half-inch by six inches by six inches is included, and metal roof deck spans across the assembly.
