An incoming steel beam connects to one side of a supporting beam using a single-plate shear connection sized per Table H. The connection features a vertical shear tab welded with five-sixteenths inch fillet welds on typical sides, with bolts spaced at three inches on center and a one and one-half inch edge distance. A supporting beam stiffener plate is welded below with five-sixteenths inch fillet welds and detailed per Table H. All framing and connection design follows standard AISC specifications.
