Two buckling restrained braces connect to a steel beam at a common work point. Three-eighths inch thick full-depth stiffener plates are welded to each side of the beam web at the work point, with additional stiffening provided as required by the brace supplier. The buckling restrained brace supplier designs and provides the gusset plate and its attachment to the beam. The buckling restrained braces are bolted to the gusset plate, with the specific brace members also provided by the supplier.
