The construction joint for a concrete slab over metal deck is positioned within the middle third of the deck span, maintaining a minimum distance of two feet from the column centerline. For joints perpendicular to the deck span, the first and second pours divide the span between structural steel framing. For joints parallel to the deck span, the location is maintained at a minimum distance of L over eight from the beam centerline.
