A wide flange column connects to a structural transfer girder using a three-quarter-inch base plate sized to the beam flange width minimum, maintaining a one-inch minimum typical clearance all around. The transfer girder is reinforced with full-depth shear and stiffener plates on each side, with thickness based on the girder size. Welds are specified as one-quarter-inch fillets, with welds not required at wide flange curved fillets. Perpendicular wide flange beams are omitted from the view with bracing connections provided per detail 18 on sheet S6.1 typically unless otherwise noted.
