A single glued-laminated timber beam frames into a double glued-laminated timber beam saddle supported by structural fasteners and steel hardware. The top of the double beam is dapped to accommodate a one-quarter-inch bent steel plate and the thickness of partially threaded washer-head screws, preventing the cross-laminated timber panel from bearing directly on the screw heads. Two zero-point-two-two-zero-inch diameter by six-inch partially threaded screws fasten into each glued-laminated beam, accompanied by a one-eighth-inch tolerance gap at the notched single beam. A one-half-inch chamfer is provided at all glued-laminated beam corners. Radiant floor tubing is integrated into the assembly above the cross-laminated timber deck.
