This connection secures a hollow structural section post to a hollow structural section wind girt using two L6x4x3/8 inch angles, each four inches long. The angles are welded to the wind girt with a 1/4 inch fillet weld featuring a three-inch return on both sides. The post is attached to the angles via a 3/4 inch diameter through-bolt centered in two-inch vertically slotted holes to allow for movement. A one-inch clearance is maintained between the post and the girt. If the post is eccentric from the girt, the angle length must be extended to provide a minimum of four inches of overlap.
