A wide flange beam connects to an HSS column using a continuous pass-through plate that slots through both sides of the hollow structural section. An opposing wide flange beam frames into the opposite side where required, shown with dashed lines. The continuous plate passes through slots in the HSS column and is secured with typical welds. A one-inch clearance is maintained at the beam-to-column interface. Fasteners are positioned with a two-inch bolt centerline spacing and a half-inch distance from the end of the plate.
