A cable tray hangs from an existing roof sub-purlin using a threaded rod and Unistrut channel. The hanging assembly uses Unistrut P1001 for spans greater than 3 feet and Unistrut P2546 for maximum spans up to 3 feet, anchored to the existing roof sheathing and sub-purlin. A horizontal support member connects to an existing vertical structural member via a 1/4 inch by 2 inch by 0 foot 6 and 1/4 inch steel plate secured with two 1/2 inch diameter through-bolts with nuts and washers.
