An HSS6x4 separator beam connects to a concrete elevator pit wall via a half-inch embed plate with two three-quarter-inch diameter welded studs. Two L8x6x1/2 angles are welded to the hollow structural section with a quarter-inch fillet weld and a three-inch minimum weld length. A three-sixteenth-inch fillet weld secures the angle connection. The embed plate aligns flush with the face of the concrete elevator pit.
