A structural steel beam frames into a support flange utilizing a ten-millimeter thick shear plate welded to the supporting member and bolted to the beam web with three standard holes. The supported beam features a coped top flange with a minimum thirteen-millimeter radius provided at all cope reentrant corners. The shear plate is clipped as required for skewed framing conditions, with fillet welds specified along the connection plates. Standard holes are provided in both the beam web and the plate to receive the connection bolts.
