A concrete slab closure strip features keyed construction joints on each side. The closure strip is cast twenty-eight days minimum after adjacent slab placement. Bottom reinforcement is installed per plan, with lap lengths sized as the development length of the largest top or bottom bar. Additional number four reinforcing bars at twenty-four inches on center are provided where no top reinforcement exists per plan.
