The wide-flange column and buckling restrained brace gusset plate are supported by a base plate anchored into a reinforced concrete footing. The base plate features a steel plate shear lug centered beneath the column, which is set into a pocket with a two-inch gap around the lug. Anchor rods are secured with one-half inch by three-inch by three-inch plate washers at the bottom. The gusset plate is provided per the buckling restrained brace supplier. Three-quarter inch fillet welds are specified at the base plate connections. The footing depth and reinforcing are sized per the project plan and schedule.
