This connection details a bracing beam framing into a steel beam per frame elevation, using a double row of pretensioned bolts with a Class A faying surface. The bolted joint utilizes four A325-N or A325-X bolts typically, six A325-N bolts for special moment frame beams with a weight greater than or equal to 182 pounds per foot, or six A325-X bolts for weights greater than or equal to 300 pounds per foot. Typical full-height stiffener plates measuring 3/8 inch minimum are welded to both sides of the supporting member, increasing to 1/2 inch minimum for W33x and W36x special moment frame beams. Double row bolts are provided where required, and remainder information is referenced to the typical beam connection schedule.
