A structural detail for a drag connection joining a perpendicular concrete masonry unit wall with embedded face plates 'a' and 'b'. The connection incorporates a 3/8-inch by 10-1/2-inch by 1'-1" plate, a structural steel shear tab sized per plan, and ASTM A706 grade #4 welded rebar measuring four feet long centered on the shear tab. Anchorage into the masonry is achieved using 3/4-inch diameter headed studs with a 6-1/2-inch embedment depth. Fillet welds measuring 1/4-inch and 5/16-inch are specified throughout the assembly typical to the connection layout.
