Two steel beams connect end-to-end to serve as a collector member. The web splice utilizes plate 1 typically with twelve 1-inch diameter ASTM A325 slip-critical bolts on each side. Plate 7/8 stiffener plates match the beam flange width and are welded to the web with 5/16-inch fillet welds. Additional plate connections feature 1/2-inch fillet welds.
