A hollow structural section girt frames into the web of a wide flange column using a welded plate connection. Five-sixteenth inch fillet welds secure the connection assembly along three sides. The girt maintains a twelve-inch maximum spacing parameter relative to the column centerline. Fasteners connect the girt web to the supporting plate detail.
