This structural steel detail shows open-web steel joists bearing on a wide-flange support beam. Half-inch erection bolts are provided where required to secure the joists during construction. Field weld symbols specify quarter-inch welds for LH series joists and one-eighth-inch welds for K series joists, with specified dimensions of two and one-half inches. The connection maintains a one-half-inch gap between adjacent joist ends over the supporting member.
