A wide-flange beam or channel frames into a hollow structural section column via a bolted connection with number and size of bolts sized per plan. A cap plate is welded to the top of the hollow structural section column with a one-quarter inch fillet weld. Additional connection plates are welded to the column face with a one-half inch weld.
