An edge plate measuring 1/2 inch by 3 inches welds to the face of the embed plate using a 5/16 inch fillet weld, also conforming to AWS D1.8. A base plate sits above a layer of grout covering the embed assembly. A note indicates that the typical diamond blockout may need to be enlarged for weld access during installation.
