A crank stringer and modified stair pan support a concrete-filled metal deck resting over a structural steel supporting beam. An inverted angle measuring 2 1/2 by 2 1/2 by 3/16 inches acts as a deck support, with the stringer coped to suit the connection geometry. The stair decking returns by 2 1/2 inches onto the support assembly sized per plan.
