An HSS12x6 hollow structural section canopy beam with a three-eighths-inch end plate frames into a wide-flange column. A large plate measuring three-quarters by fifteen inches by one foot ten and one-half inches is typically centered on the column. Angles measuring 4x4x3/8 by seven inches and plates measuring one-half by three by six inches are typically centered at the connection. Fillet welds of three-sixteenths inch are applied to all four sides typically, with additional field welds specified on both sides.
