A continuous L4x4x1/4 angle welded to the web of a structural steel beam supports the edge of a concrete slab over steel deck. The angle is secured with typical three-sixteenths inch welds spaced at twelve inches. A headed shear anchor is welded through the steel deck to the top flange of the beam. The concrete slab features a twelve-inch maximum step-down transition configured per plan.
