Additional reinforcing around slab openings consists of five number three bars spaced at two inches on center, extending four feet past the corners of the openings in the same plane as the typical mat reinforcing. Two number four by eight-foot long diagonal bars are centered on each corner of the opening. Openings greater than two feet are framed with C12x20.7 channels as indicated in structural notes.
