A handrail post inserts into a pipe sleeve embedded within a thickened concrete slab edge and continuous footing, filled with non-shrink grout. The six-inch concrete slab is reinforced with number three bars at eighteen inches on center each way. The footing is reinforced with number four bars at twelve inches on center continuous, number four bars at eighteen inches on center, and two continuous number four bars at the base with three inches of clear cover typical. A three-inch by three-inch by one-quarter-inch plate is welded to the pipe sleeve at its base inside the concrete. Finish grade and handrail specifications are coordinated with architectural, landscape, and civil drawings.
