Structural plan detail of slab blockouts around column base plates for both interior and slab edge conditions. The blockout requires a three-inch minimum clearance around the base plate outline and is specified to be filled with concrete after all dead loads are in place. Isolation joints and weakened plane joints are detailed adjacent to the blockout areas. A three-inch minimum concrete cover is maintained between soil and steel at the slab edge.
