Welded shear studs are spaced along the top flange of a structural steel beam in both single and double row configurations. Three-quarter inch diameter studs are welded typically unless otherwise noted, with specific minimum and maximum spacing dimensions. Minimum edge distances and transverse spacings are dimensioned from the beam centerline. Stud lengths are determined per the steel deck schedule.
