A structural steel bottom flange brace connection featuring angle kickers attached to a support member and steel joist. The assembly uses L-3x3x1/4 angles for kickers up to seven feet long and L-4x4x5/16 angles for kickers between seven and eleven feet long. A three-eighths inch plate is utilized with three-sixteenths inch fillet welds typically throughout. The steel joist is designed for a strength-level wind vertical load of 1.0 kips up and down at each bracing location.
