A three-eighths by five-inch square plate is welded to each kicker brace and to the steel beam web beneath a concrete over metal floor deck. A one-quarter-inch fillet weld secures the plate to the steel beam. A one-quarter-inch fillet weld secures the kicker brace to the plate. Stud anchors are embedded through the floor deck into the top flange of the steel beam.
