A steel core plate is enclosed within a casing and connected to end gusset plates using a one-eighth inch seal weld only. The assembly is symmetrical about the centerline and features clipped corners on the internal steel core ends where they interface with the gusset plates. Field connections at each end utilize bolted gusset plates extending beyond the casing boundaries.
