A top of post vertical slip connection utilizes an HSS6x4 hollow structural section post framing below a wide-flange beam and composite slab assembly. The connection incorporates L6x4x3/8 angles on each side featuring three-inch vertical slotted holes for two five-eighths inch diameter bolts, which are hand-tightened with damaged threads to prevent nut back-off. A one-half by eight by eight-inch plate with a standard hole is provided on each side. The assembly accommodates vertical movement while maintaining lateral stability beneath the floor structure.
