Reinforcement for a circular beam web penetration with diameter D where the opening size falls between one-quarter and one-half of the total beam depth d. A web plate sized per schedule is centered over the penetration, maintaining a minimum distance of d over four from the top and bottom flanges. Spacing between multiple penetrations requires a minimum clear distance of D plus one inch, with edge distances of D over two or four inches minimum. When penetration diameter D is less than one-quarter of beam depth d, no web plate is required. Continuous web plates must be used when two or more penetrations occur together.
