A wide-flange column and buckling-restrained brace connect to a heavy steel base plate bearing on one and one-half inches of non-shrink grout above a reinforced concrete footing. The column assembly includes a two-and-one-quarter-inch Grade 50 base plate with anchor bolts extending down to a bottom anchor plate measuring one and three-quarters by eighteen inches by one foot seven inches. The concrete footing is reinforced with number four ties spaced at four inches on center, positioned beneath the column centerline. A gusset plate connects the buckling-restrained brace to the column per the manufacturer's specifications. The top of footing and bottom of footing elevations are sized per plan with a minimum six-inch embedment and clearance.
