A structural steel beam frames into a column with a standard bolted beam web connection schedule. The top and bottom beam flanges feature complete joint penetration (CJP) welds or alternative plate connections using five-eighths-inch thick plates. Horizontal stiffener plates match or exceed the beam flange width and are welded to the column with one-half-inch fillet welds. Beams may occur on opposite sides of the column and accommodate a maximum slope of one in three. Additional framing conditions and stiffener placements are detailed per project specifications.
