A concrete housekeeping pad is placed over a structural concrete floor slab with a minimum pad height and width dimensions sized per mechanical, electrical, and architectural requirements. The cold joint between the separate pours requires a bonded or roughened surface interface if the pad is poured separately from the base slab. Reinforcing steel is placed within the pad per typical topping slab details, and anchor bolts are embedded as required by the equipment supplier.
