An HSS post is welded to a base plate using a three-sixteenth-inch fillet weld and sits atop a one-and-one-half-inch layer of non-shrink grout. The base plate measures one-half inch by three and one-half inches by zero feet nine inches and is secured by two three-quarter-inch diameter A307 bolts spaced at six inches on center. The concrete slab is reinforced with #3 hairpins measuring eighteen by eighteen inches placed around the anchor bolts with one inch of clear cover.
