An L4x4x1/4 angle brace connects between wide flange beams supporting a bare metal roof deck. A 3/8-inch by 6-inch by 6-inch plate connects the brace to the top flange of the wide flange beam with a 3/4-inch diameter A307 bolt at each end. Fillet welds of 1/4-inch size secure the connection plates in place. The maximum beam spacing is 10 feet center-to-center as specified on plan. Contractors may optionally use a single full-depth plate in lieu of top and bottom plates.
