A steel wide flange beam connects to an HSS beam using a WT section web connection sized per the schedule. The WT section web size matches the typical bolted web plate connection schedule, with a flange width of four inches minimum and a flange thickness not less than the web thickness. The wide flange beam is coped as required, maintaining a maximum three-inch clearance from the HSS centerline. Cope dimension A is equal to one-half the web thickness plus one-sixteenth of an inch.
