A structural steel column frames into a base plate anchored to a concrete foundation with anchor rods per schedule. An embed plate conforming to Grade 50 is placed below the bottom reinforcing bars. A drag member connects to the column web with five-sixteenths inch fillet welds on both sides. The thickness of the plate matches the gusset plate on the opposite end of the drag member. Anchor rods and embed plates are installed as specified in the foundation schedule.
