An angle brace connects to the top flange of a steel beam located beneath a metal roof deck. An L4x4x1/4 structural angle member is skewed as required and welded to the nearest beam top flange with a quarter-inch fillet weld. A one-quarter-inch by five-inch by five-inch connection plate is welded at each brace using a quarter-inch fillet weld.
