This moment connection joins two wide flange beams to a supporting wide flange member at their centerlines. The beam webs are connected to the supporting member via a shear tab with three bolts per side. The top and bottom flanges of the beams are connected to the supporting member using complete penetration groove welds, indicated by the CP symbol, with typical backing bars provided at the underside of the flange welds. The flange welds are specified as typical for both top and bottom flanges.
