This concrete wall construction joint details the connection between a first pour and a second pour. A 1 1/2 inch deep keyway is formed at the joint interface with a twelve-inch long key spaced at twenty-four inches on center. Two rows of keys are required where the wall is thicker than sixteen inches. Typical horizontal wall reinforcement continues through the joint. The surface must be cleaned prior to placing concrete.
