This structural plan detail shows a concrete panel joint at a building corner connected via embedded steel plates and welded reinforcing. A 1/2-inch by 8-inch by 1'-4" plate with three #6 reinforcing bars at 6 inches on center ties into one concrete panel, while a 1/2-inch by 5-inch by 1'-4" plate with three #6 bars at 6 inches gauge connects the adjacent panel. A 3/4-inch by 2 1/2-inch by 1'-1" plate bridges the joint with a typical 3/8-inch fillet weld. Continuous #5 reinforcing bars run horizontally within the panels alongside 4x4-W2.1xW2.1 welded wire fabric. The joint cavity is grouted after welding is completed.
